Madagascar - power plug and socket

In Madagascar , electrical sockets and plugs are type C, D, E, J or K.
Type C has two round pins, type D has three round pins in a triangular pattern, type E has two round pins and a hole for the socket's male earthing pin, type J has three round pins and type K has two round parallel pins and a grounding pin.

In country Madagascar is voltage 127 V, 220 V and the voltage frequency is 50 Hz. This country is one of the few countries that use two types of voltage. Most countries use a voltage of 120 V and some 220 V. If your devices are made for the range as specified, you can use them. It is important to check which type of voltage the socket supports. An incorrectly selected socket can destroy the devices you plug into it. Because two types of voltage are supported in the country, it is likely that equipment purchased there will operate at both voltages. If the voltage frequency in your country is different from Madagascar (127 V, 220 V), some of your devices may not work properly.

Check the markings on the device before traveling. Each electrical device has a label (often on the charger) stating at which volt range and frequency it works - example “INPUT: 100-240V, 50/60 Hz”.
